Each day your child will be set a number of short tasks – see links below. Please try to support your child through this work on the day it has been set.

Phonics and Reading 

Phonics Play have allowed free access to their website so that parents can use a wide range of  interactive phonics games with their children without subscribing. Click on the picture to go straight to their website.

Oxford Owl have a number of eBooks available for free in their eBook Library. Parents will need to log in or register but the eBooks are free to use. Click on the picture to access the free books.

For a selection of picture books to read, consider signing up for the eLibrary (Libby) from Suffolk Libraries by clicking on the picture below.

Monday 30th march

Well done Reception on completing your first week of home learning! We would love to see any pieces of work you are proud of. This could include something that you have worked together on. Please send these over to our email: reception@brokehall.suffolk.sch.uk

Literacy

This week in Literacy we have activities all about Cinderella! We also have handwriting activities for you to try. This week we are going to practise our curly caterpillar letters. Today’s letters are: c and a. Write a line of each letter, remembering to start in the correct place. Please see the 'Handwriting letter families posters' at the bottom of this page for more guidance.

Maths

Try writing your numerals 0-10 every day. This week in Maths, we have activities all about Patterns. Using construction, Duplo, Lego or junk modelling. Create a castle or carriage. What 2D and 3D shapes have you used?

Afternoon Activity

Draw or create a special cake for the ball. Make a cake or cupcakes for the ball. Maybe you can have these for pudding after your dinner.

Tuesday 31st march

Literacy

Today’s curly caterpillar letters to practise are: d and o. Write a line of each letter, remembering to start in the correct place.

Phonics soundbuttons.(Please only complete qu words) Write each word and add the sound buttons.

Draw a picture of Cinderella or the Prince. Write some sentences to describe them

Maths

Make a repeating colour pattern in your book using colouring pencils. For example, red, blue, red blue.

Afternoon Activity

Search online for castles near where you live, such as Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex.               How many can you find? Do they all look the same? What features do they have? Can you find features such as: The keep, the drawbridge, a moat, battlements, portcullis, curtain wall and bailey.

Wednesday 1st April

Literacy

Today’s curly caterpillar letters are s and g. Write a line of each letter, remembering to start in the correct place. Design and write an invitation to the ball.

Thursday 2nd April

Write a list of food that you will need for the ball.

Maths

Create number patterns for example, 2,7,4, 2,7,4

Afternoon Activity

Paint or draw your favourite castle. This could be one from a book or from your research online. Create a special flag to fly.
