Year 3 Home Learning

Each day your child will be set a number of short tasks – see links below.  Each activity will come with simple instructions.  Please try to support your child through this work on the day it has been set.

Over the course of the week, complete as many of the following activities as you can. You can record your work in your workbook.

The activities will be displayed for 3 days and then they will be removed.

READING

To help to keep your children reading, Oxford Owl have a number of eBooks available for free in their eBook Library. Parents will need to log in or register but the eBooks are free to use. 

Alternatively, consider signing up for the eLibrary (Libby) from Suffolk Libraries by clicking on the picture. 

Times Tables

Practise your times tables.  Either one specific times tables you find more challenging or practise a mix of them.

Spelling rule: Words with a ‘sh’ sound spelt ‘ch’

Your spellings for the week are listed below. 

If you have a dictionary at home, look the new words up and find out their meanings.  Can you use them in a sentence today?!

chef, chalet, machine, brochure, crochet, ricochet, parachute, moustache, champagne, chute.

Spelling Activity Week 2

Optional Activity:

In your workbooks, write each word in a different sentence.  You might choose to write the sentences based on a theme, such as 'space', 'under the sea', 'castles', or 'the garden'.  Remember to include full stops, capital letters, adjectives and different openers.

Use the suggested activities near the top of the page to practise your times tables.  If you are using why not challenge a friend to a battle?  Alternatively, choose one or two games and keep a record of your scores.  Can you beat them throughout the week?

Write a blurb for the story (but remember not to give the ending away!)
